About Dysport

Dysport is a botulinum toxin type A medicine made by Ipsen. It relaxes the muscles that crease the skin when you frown, raise your eyebrows or smile, which softens these expression lines. The effect usually begins within a few days and builds over about two weeks, and results commonly last around three to four months, varying from person to person.

Dysport units are not interchangeable with Botox units, so the dose is set by the doctor for your muscles rather than copied from another treatment. Is It Right for You?

Anti-wrinkle injections are not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and are not suitable for people with certain neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis, an infection at the injection sites, or an allergy to any of the ingredients. Dysport contains a small amount of cow's milk protein, so tell the doctor about any cow's milk protein allergy. Some medicines, including certain antibiotics, can interact with botulinum toxin, so bring a list of what you take.

Temporary redness, small bumps, bruising or a mild headache are common. Less commonly, an eyelid or eyebrow can feel heavy for a few weeks; this is temporary. Your suitability is assessed in person before any treatment.
